Aims
The aim of the Society is the promotion of research into the intellectual, social, economic and political life of the eighteenth century, primarily in Switzerland. It pursues this aim in the following ways :
by furthering communication among its members regarding research projects, and making these known to a wider public ;
by promoting research into this period, especially in areas hitherto neglected ;
by furthering the scholarly activity of its members relevant to the aims of the Society and within the capacity of the Society ;
by organising academic conferences ;
by co-operating with other societies devoted to the study of the eighteenth century, both in Switzerland and abroad.
